Training:

After graduating from the British School of Osteopathy in 1993 Heather has undergone extensive osteopathic post-graduate training nationally and internationally in the UK, NZ, USA and Australia. Her post-graduate training includes Visceral Osteopathy, Osteopathy for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Functional Methods, Craniosacral Therapy, Osteopathy in the Cranial Field (OCF), Paediatric Osteopathy, The Biodynamics of Osteopathy in the Cranial Field (BOCF Phases I-VIII completed, Paeds Phases I-III completed), and

* Animal Biomechanical Medicine (ABM).

 

Registrations:

Heather is registered with AHPRA - the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and a member of Osteopathy Australia, the General Osteopathic Council in the UK, and Animal Biomechanical Professionals Australia (ABPA).

 

Teaching Experience:

Heather’s teaching experience includes lecturing at RMIT University in Melbourne at both graduate and post-graduate levels as well as clinician work, and clinician work at Victoria University.

 

Clinical Focus:

Heather’s clinical special interest focus includes Paediatric Osteopathy, pregnancy: pre and post-natal osteopathy, Visceral and Cranial Osteopathy. The Biodynamics of Osteopathy which is an indirect (non-invasive) and gentle diagnostic and treatment approach for restoring the systemic health and motion of the whole body, and individual well-being for patients of all ages.

Heather is a thorough and experienced senior osteopathic clinician and will leave no stone unturned in aiding a patient to recover their optimal health, function and well-being. She is a gentle and effective practitioner and is passionate about osteopathy, especially for children and animals who can’t always tell us where they hurt, as well as for adults with chronic health conditions, helping to restore a patient’s state of wholeness and sense of flow back into the river of life…

 

Referrals:

No referral required.

Osteopathy is a wholistic and complementary manual therapy.

We receive referrals and work alongside GP’s, Obstetricians, Paediatricians, Midwives, Maternal and Child Health Nurses, Lactation Consultants, Dentists, ENT, Orthopaedics, Neurologists, Rheumatologists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists as well as other Allied Health Practitioners.

As primary healthcare practitioners Osteopaths are trained to recognise medical conditions that require referral for appropriate medical treatment and care.

 

Fees:

Paediatric Osteopathy includes all babies and children under 16 years of age.

Please allow an adult booking time slot for 17 year olds and over.

 

Paediatric Osteopathy:

New patient $175 (allow 1 hour)

Standard Revisits $115 (allow 30 mins)

Complex Paediatric Revisits $150 (allow 45 mins)

 

Adults Osteopathy:

New patient $200 (allow 1 hour and 15-30mins)

Standard Revisits $150 (allow 45 mins)

 

Appointment times may be slightly shorter or longer than the allocated time slots allowed, dependent on the appropriate treatment required on the day.
There is no extra fee if a longer appointment is required than the above time slots allow.

Animal Fees:

Canine and Feline Osteopathy fees are the same as Paediatric Osteopathy fees. Local house calls only, there may be a minimal call out fee. This includes predisposing/maintaining factor assessment and advice e.g. slippery floor spaces.

Equine Osteopathy fees are the same as Adult Osteopathy fees plus a call out fee based on $10 up to 10 mins travel, within 1 hour. The call out fee is per property/agistment.
